Nathaniel Eras
Unearthed

Born in California's central valley; Eras eventually relocated to San Francisco in 2000, where he began working with various local acts. While living in Oakland, Eras teamed up with electronic auteur William Marshall (a.k.a. Octavius) for the 2003 release, Audio Noir. The project received unexpected acclaim from leading independent music publications such as XLR8R, URB and The Wire, as well as a nomination for Hip-Hop Album of The Year by the L.A Weekly in 2004.

From there; Eras produced Autonomous Objects, an E.P. sponsored by B.E.A.R. that was available exclusively as a digital release. Music from Eras’ catalog (including the aforementioned EP) went on to be featured in such programs as MTV2’s Nike Battle Grounds as well as a television campaign for SV Vodka.

All of these impressive accomplishments served as signposts on the road to Eras’ latest project; Unearthed. For Unearthed; Eras has composed music used in the entire reinterpretation of Nosferatu, the 1922 silent film classic. This 2008 version of the horror classic was re-constructed by collaborator John Carlucci. For the piece, Eras masterfully employed dark synth phrases and distorted melodies over augmented drum breaks, all while evoking both tension and mystery.

Unearthed will be released by TRACK NUMBER RECORDS on November 25, 2008 and serves as yet another example of a visionary work from an evolving artist, who is making music that is too good to go unheard…
